It is widely rumoured that the Sakyong is"hiding" in Nepal or India and cannot visit the USA because he is under investigation or could be arrested for the alleged offences reported by "Ann" (BPS), and others.

There is no evidence of any reason the Sakyong may not visit the US or Canada.   The Sakyong visited the US to attend his mother's cremation and later her memorial ceremony in June and in August 2019.

The alleged offences reported by Ann, including the abuse of minors, has been investigated both by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office and Ms. Selina Bath of Wickwire Holm.  No evidence has been found of wrong doing.  Several staff members who were present and on staff at Prajna Cabin, the Sakyong's residence at SMC during this period have denied that anything she described happened.  The Sakyong has strenuously denied these allegations.  There are no charges pending against the Sakyong anywhere, and none related to misconduct are expected.

The Sakyong and his family went to Nepal at Losar in 2019 for several documented reasons including: a previous long-standing ceremonial commitment; the affordable cost of living; family time with their relatives; and personal safety for himself and his family.
